Assistant Chief Engineer (m/f/d) Zero-Emission Vehicles Europe (Battery Electric or Fuel Cell Electric)
Location Ulm, start asap

You will:

• Support the Chief Engineer to lead the engineering and development of Battery Electric (BEV) or Fuel Cell Electric (FCEV) commercial trucks from start to finish
• Lead technical reviews to assure products are engineered to meet or exceed requirements and lead decision-making process
• Define engineering resource requirements for successful project execution
• Identify areas for cost/benefit trade-off, technological advancement and maintain engineering standards
• Oversee all aspects of engineering projects from start to finish, including design, testing, and commissioning in line with program milestones
• Clearly communicate, escalate and manage program risks, issues and improvements
• Perform root-cause analysis, risk assessments and resolve problems
• Prepare technical and progress reports

You have:

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
• Several years of proven experience in vehicle engineering and integration and/or leading an engineering function, Heavy Commercial Vehicles preferred
• Knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes, components and design techniques in mechanical and electrical systems
• Working knowledge of quality, design, and validation tools such as FEA, DFA/M, DOE/PFMEA, DVP&R, problem-solving (8D or similar), tolerance stacking, and LEAN principles
• Knowledge in MS Office; Jama and Jira are a plus
• Fluency in English; German or Italian language skills are advantageous
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities as well as leadership and communications skills
